The owners of Elliott Bay Brewing Company met while working
at Maritime Pacific Brewing in the mid-1990s. Todd Carden and Brent Norton
forged a friendship over beers and discovered that they shared a dream of
owning and operating their own brewpub. While working at Maritime Pacific, they
also met a brewer named Doug Hindman. In 1997, the first Elliott Bay Brewing
location opened in West Seattle. With Hindman making the beer, Carden and
Norton brought their dream to life. The rest is history.
The West Seattle brewpub soon earned the hearts of the
locals. Conveniently situated in the junction business district, otherwise
known as downtown West Seattle, Elliott Bay Brewery Pub quickly became known to
locals simply as “the pub.” Not only did they build a reputation based on the
award-winning beer, but the pub is also known for its great food and
outstanding service. The casual, neighborhood atmosphere is perfect for the
neighborhood – a family-friendly destination for an affordable, tasty lunch or
dinner accompanied by great beers.
Eventually, Carden and Norton realized that the Elliott Bay
Brewing Company formula was ready to be exported to other Seattle
neighborhoods. In 2007, Elliott Bay Brewing opened its second brewpub – in the
heart of downtown Burien. In 2012, a third location was added in Seattle’s Lake
City neighborhood. Each of the locations offers the same recipe for success:
great beer, great food, and great service. Each of the locations has it's own
brewery. All three of the brewpubs feature beers from the others, but focus on
house-made beers.
