Colorado Craft Beer Week is a celebration of Colorado
breweries, their beers and the people who brew them. Throughout the week, we
will be participating in beer dinners, special tappings, and other awesome
events to raise support and awareness for one of our most important advocacy
groups - the Colorado Brewers Guild. New events are getting added almost every
day, so stay tuned at the link above! For more information, check out their
website at http://www.cobeerweek.com/
About the Colorado
Brewers Guild
The Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) was founded in 1995 by
Colorado craft brewers in an effort to promote the quality and diversity of the
growing Colorado craft brewing industry. The CBG provides valuable information
to the beer-drinking public and the media while also serving to protect the
industry and promote positive legislative for Colorado craft brewers.
Today, the Colorado Brewers Guild includes the majority of
the craft breweries and brewpubs and represents more than 95% of craft beer
production in the state. CBG is a 501 (c)(6) non-profit trade association and
retains advocates to work with the state legislature on behalf of Colorado’s
craft brewers.
The Colorado Brewers Guild delivers a full calendar of
special events intended to feature and promote the world-class products of its
members. In February, the Guild hosts its annual Firkin Rendezvous, which
features a stunning array of cask beers produced by Guild member breweries.
This Firkin Rendezvous has been taking place in Colorado Springs since 2005,
and is quickly becoming a favorite for Colorado beer lovers.
The Guild hosts its biggest event of the year, the Colorado
Brewers Rendezvous, in July in Salida, Colorado. Set in an idyllic setting
along the Arkansas River, the Rendezvous features the best of Colorado beer in
a casual, relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Check our portal calendar to view
additional events hosted or endorsed by CBG brewers.
CBG is governed by a Board of Directors (Board). The Board
is comprised of member brewery executives who direct the Executive Director in
determining priorities and approving the annual budget. An Executive Director
serves at the pleasure of the Board. In addition, marketing, legislative and
membership committees headed by brewery members formulate and deploy strategic
initiatives for CBG and just get things done. The Guild is governed by Bylaws
approved by the Board.
